Research is formalized curiosity. It is poking and prying with a purpose. -Zora Neale Hurston

Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Center (VICC) has a clear purpose for a patient-focus approach to cancer research. We are honored to be a part of the VICC Young Ambassadors team; committed to supporting the research being conducted at VICC.

Who are we? We are just two friends that have witnessed the pain and devastation that a cancer diagnosis can bring. Cancer has taken some of the most important people in our lives including a boyfriend, a mother, close friends and family. On the bright side, we have also seen the joy that comes when innovative treatments lead to the term “survivor”.

Now, we team up to use our time and resources to help find better treatments, diagnostics and one day a cure. We hope you will give serious consideration to joining us in this cause by contributing to Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Center in support of the Young Ambassadors fund.

Every dollar you give will go directly to cancer research.

Kelly & Tish

  5. Kelly,

After getting your invitation and email about VICCtory Over Cancer, Suzanne and I sat down and talked about a few family members, close friends, and family members of close friends that cancer has affected or taken, and this list does not include all the family members and friends of those on our list that this disease has affected. My brother Richard and my sister-in-law Barbara died of cancer. My Mom had a double masectomy about 10 years ago and just celebrated her 94th birthday (way to go Mom!). Louise and Sylvia, two sisters-in-law, are cancer survivors, as well as friends Cindy, Cathy, Hope, and Alice, the wife Randy, one of my work friends associates. Lastly, but certainly not least, we also remember your Mom Gloria. We decided to make a donation in memory or in honor of all of these to VICCtory Over Cancer. Thanks to you and all of the VICC Young Ambassadors for all your efforts. Keep up the good work and let’s eliminate this disease together!
